Beware of the Don. The Don aka Mr. Donohue is the Bonner math teacher that means business. Last year I had the pleasure of being taught by one of the best teachers in the USA(no joke). His class was one of the hardest and most rewarding classes I've ever had. The things he can teach you will stay with he always says " My job isn't to teach you it's to make sure you learn" and learn we did.

Well exams are next week and its a big part of your final grade for the semester everyone would like to pass so they can have good grades on their report card.

Why is God so different in the Old Testament than He is in the New Testament?

The God of the Old Testament is a God of wrath while the God of the New Testament is a God of love. The fact that the Bible is God’s progressive revelation of Himself to us through historical events and through His relationship with people throughout history might contribute to misconceptions about what God is like in the Old Testament as compared to the New Testament. However, when one reads both the Old and the New Testaments, it becomes evident that God is not different from one testament to another and that God’s wrath and His love are revealed in both testaments.

Go Bonner!

I love Bonner. Bonner may be the greatest school ever in history. It has everything you could want, Smart teachers who can take a joke, People that truly care about you and your future. The single sex education that you get at Monsignor Bonner is as good as you can get anywhere. It may not be the fanciest school or the school with the most money but year after year we graduate fine students that go on to be successful in their chosen fields. Bonner prepares them for life after high school, instilling in them honor, loyalty, integrity, and purity which they will use the rest of their life.

With the eagles lost on sunday they go into the offseason having to fix somethings on defense. But they had a good season which most experts thought would be a building season after the trade of Mcnabb and the new starting quarterback Kevin Kolb took over.

Snow!?

I'm sure every one remembers a time not too long ago when even one or two snow days were rare. We were extremely spoiled last year when we had a plethora of snow and several snow days including the big seven day weekend. I remember in grade school that if we had two snow days that would be the best thing that could happen know we just expect it to. All I'm saying is that don't be surprised when march rolls around and we only had one or two snow days. There is hope, chances are that we will have a snow day tomorrow so enjoy it you may not get many opportunities.

Eagles.

Even though the Eagles lost today they played a good game. The Packers was a tough team and they don't have any reason to hold their heads in my opinion. For the most part they had a very good season. I hope they sign Mick Vick for more seasons to come. He turned this team around this season,and he's truely become a leader.

Who created God? Where did God come from?

Common argument from atheists and skeptics is that if all things need a cause, then God must also need a cause. The conclusion is that if God needed a cause, then God is not God (and if God is not God, then of course there is no God). This is a slightly more sophisticated form of the basic question “Who made God?” Everyone knows that something does not come from nothing. So, if God is a “something,” then He must have a cause, right?

Phillies 2011 Season!

The Phillies are going to be a very good team this year! They picked up Cliff Lee but got rid of Jason Werth. Thats ok because they still have big hitters like Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Carlos Ruiz, and Chase Utley. We have the best rotation in the league with the new pick up Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, Roy Halladay, and Roy Oswalt. The Phillies have a really good shot at winning this year.

Are the Eagles going to the Super Bowl?

The state of Bonner in in trouble. The number of 8th graders coming into Bonner has dropped greatly in the past 5 years. The nightmare that Bonner may have to combine with our sister school Prendie is looking more and more likely. There is hope however if the current Bonner students try to improve the reputation of Bonner they have to try to keep the dream alive. There is a way we can save our school but we have to be all in.

Christmas thoughts

As we go through the Advent season, it is often hard for us to stay focused on the true meaning of the season. Familiar sayings like "Keep Christ in Christmas" and "Jesus is the reason for the season" are somewhat overused and overused and trite now and so are ineffective. What does help you to keep the holy purpose of the season in mind?

Cruisin' Not boozin'

On Tuesday, Nov. 16th, we had the annual Crusin' Not Boozin' assembly. In each assembly, speakers told their tragic stories and brought the message to us of how their mistakes affected them and their families. The stories at both assemblies were remarkable.

All of us have sat with speakers who survived from big errors like drinking, drugs, recklessness or big problems like eating diorders. Sometimes we don't even hear the speakers because we are so used to this kind of thing. But sometimes we do.

There really is no way to judge who is being helped by bringing these speakers to us. I hear with my adult ears. What do you hear with your younger ears? You know what I mean: does it help to listen to survivors?

God says, "If someone prays for patience, do think God gives them patience or opportunities to be patient? If someone prays for courage, does God give them courage, or give them opportunites to be courageous? And if a someone prays for a family to become closer, do you think God zaps them with loving feelings or gives them opportunities to become closer?" What  can you understand about the way God works from that conversation?
