Sophomore Year

For me personally, this was one of the most enjoyable school years of my life. I have seen how we have grown up as a class. I can remember last year how we were always shouting and fighting but I think we have become more mature. I have also enjoyed seeing the new freshman faces and getting to know them. They are a very interesting group of people. As their self-proclaimed "godfather," I have become friendly with many of them. I found that while the freshmen appear to be rough on the outside, they are good people once you get to know them. Some of this year's most memorable events include the huddles in the hallway in October and April, the Bonner guys rushing out the front door to see a fight, the dance party in the men's bathroom, and Jordan Parker's attempt to bring home the cup for the sophomores that fell just short. All in all, this was a very good year.

Next year

I don't know about you but I am genially excited for our junior year with this year ending with a bang. Although next year promises even more good times at Bonner. There were so many awesome memories this year like Mr. Meyer teaching while flexing, Jordon Parker at the Fun Day dance off, the dance party in the men's bathroom, the first annual wing bowl and many many more. I hope that next year we have just as much fun as we look to continue the tradition at Monsignor Boner . So I'll leave you with this I hope you have a great summer because next year's going to be great

Sophmore Year

Even though Freshmen year was great I think that this year was the greatest of high school so far. In my experiences many people think that this year iway harder then last year but I disagree. Last year I had homework every night and either a test or quiz atleast everyother day. This year was for the most part a little laid back like school was getter eazier by the period.
As an added bonas I enjoyed a more favorful aray of teachers then freshmen year.

Summer

I can't wait until summer where I can work out all day and hang out all night and spend time with some people I haven't had time to over the school year and reconnect with my friends that I lost touch with. I honestly will miss school with all the good times I have had in this year with my friends, the jokes, the teachers, the gym classes, etc. But then again there are more good times to look forward to over the summer with my friends. The best thing about summer is hanging out with your friends and meeting new people.

Review of Sophomore Year

I believe sophomore year was definitely the most academically challenging year. I came in as a sophomoric young man and I am leaving a wiser, more educated, and better decision making young man. In this school year my teachers have taught me responsibility, individualism, and maturity. My Theology teacher, Mrs. Toner, helped me with those qualities. I learned how to take responsibility for my own actions and/or mistakes in and outside of school.

Summer

I know this time of year is when everyone has just had enough with school and are ready just to go to the shore, pool, sleep in or anything that doesn't make you think of school. my favorite thing about summer is going to the beach and just being around family. what are your plans for the summer?

FUN DAY

I thought fun day this year was a great day, even though we could not use the blow ups because of the rain, i still thought Bonner put together a great day, my favorite activity was either the trivia or dodge ball. In my opinion i think fun day is a day that all the grades can come together and simply have fun. what did u think of fun day? what was your favorite activity?

fun day

Fun day was great this year dodgeball was great we beat the freshman in both games and after we stormed the court. This year was fun everyone luaghing and enjoying the day. Our class dominated in basketball, we did good in the trivia. C-8 and C-9 beat the freshman 18-0 in mushball it was very fun competing against the freshman this year.

What's Your View On Judgement Day?

There are major and minor signs that show that the judgement day is near some of the minor signs have appeared but not a single major one, so i think that the judgement day IS near but not like tomorrow or anything

but in the end only god knows, right?

Fun Day.

Fun day was fun indeed. The sophomores dominated the freshman in EVERYTHING and baseball homerooms C8-C9 destroyed the freshman 17-0 in mush-ball. Then it all came down to the winner, which was a tie between my homeroom and senior homeroom A-7. It was a dance-off for the winner and of course the kids in my homeroom chooses me to go up and win. Of course we didn't because the seniors cheered wayyyy louder than anyone else who cheered for me. Sooo we wounded up coming in second place. Better luck next timee!

Fun Day.

Fun day was amazingly fun for Bonner this year. All the activites were exciting form beginning to the end. My homeroom C-9 dominated the whole day,but was robbed in the end. My favorite event we did was Dodgeball. It was so loud and competive, and i made the game winning catch. I actually thought the freshmen had us for a second, but i sated strong and picked up the win for the Sophmores.

Join Project!

I thought the joint project was pretty cool. I liked how we got to meet knew people that aren't from around here. I liked how we got to work with them too. Even though we had some trouble getting in contact with them, it was still pretty cool. I thought everyone did a nice job on it. I would like to do it again but I don't think the teachers would. But overall it was a good idea.

Joint Project Review

I liked the joint project we did with the students from St. John Neumann Regional Academy in Williamsport, PA because it gave us the opportunity to work with students outside of our school. It also gave me a new work ethic because it was fun working and talking to people i don't usually talk to everyday and find out that I had alot in common with the other person. This project taught me about the stations. It also taught me about all the pain and suffering that Jesus and his people went through

Joint Project

I think the joint project was a success! We worked very hard and also met new friends from another school far away. Our friends also worked very diligently, so everything was handed in on time and accurate. The webcamming was the best part because instead of chatting them on a chat, we actually gotten the chance to see them and talk to them. Which can also help us for the future, if someone has a job and has to work with another company to sell their product, we wouldn't be as nervous because we already know what its going to be like.

Joint Project

The joint project, in my opinion, was a wonderful feat of modern technology. Students from two schools 100 and some odd miles away were able to connect with each other and do a project with each other. I liked the Google Docs part of it, but my favorite part was the videoconference part, even though that I must admit that the conversations we had were often awkward. During the course of the project, we found out that despite our differences, we had many things in common. All in all, I thought that this project was an enriching experience.

Joint Project

I think the joint project was a bittersweet occasion. It was nice to share our creativity and academic talents with another school. To use the updated technology for communication, and actually meet them. At the same time it had a little inconvenience not always having the communication, and not putting the project together in person. I felt that it was an creative, unique project put together by the teacher, and I commend you guys.

Joint Project

In my opinion the joint project was a great experience. Ive never had the chance to work with students from other schools on a project, i also had a lot of fun. i feel my group and our partner joey worked well together and both had equal dedication to the project, this was a good chance to meet new people also. i think it also could come in handy in the future. over-all i enjoyed the project

Joint project

I thought that the joint project was hard because of communication issues and not knowing the other person we were working with. It was a different and sort of interesting experience. It helped show how good people can work with complete strangers when trying to complete a task. It was definitely a learning experience. If i had to this kinda thing again i would try to improve communication with the other person.

Joint Project

i felt that the joint project was hard because of the communication problems my group was having and not being able to talk to them whenever. It was a new experience for me tho. This project could help me in the future if i have to work with someone over a long distance via the internet. Working on it using the internet and web cam was weird for me and slightly difficult due to computer issues and communication/availability of our partner. Over all it was a new experince for me and i enjoyed the learning process and use of our technology.

Saturday, April 30, 2011

Joint project

When we first started the project I thought it was going to be difficult because me and the person in my group didn't know the person from the other school. When meeting someone new you don't know how to start a conversion you don't know what their favorite things to do or sports are. So the first time I talked to my partner I felt like i didn't know what to talk about, but the second time i knew a little bit more about what to tell him. As time went on I felt like the project was easier and i learned about a new school. It also helped me get better as a person in group projects.

What did everybody think about the joint project? And was it easy working with other students from another school through the internet?

Film critics

Write your opinion of your favorite film about Jesus (or any Bible story). Tell us the name of the film and why it is your favorite.

Notice

Most of us have had occasions to read someone's death notice (obituary). The notice usually includes a summary of the person's family, accomplishments, cause of death,  survived by, memorial etc. Write an obituary for Jesus if the style of a modern obituary.

Time of year

Sophomore year started with some high expectations and plans. Now reality has set in. What is the hardest part of this time of year?

Joint project

Completing the joint project with the students in Williamsport had good points and bad points. What was the hardest part of it all? What did you learn? If you had to do it again, what would you do differently?

Fatherless Choice 2

John Sweeney was the most memorable in the Fatherless to me. He was the Main character in the story, but was also like an victim in the story. He helped the other characters in the story with the best guidance. He also had his own problems in which at one point he couldn't find himself. However his advice directed people to the light, and they loved him for it. The scene that stuck out most to me is when John is having a hard time with himself. So John get's drunk, His good friend brings him home from the bar. He wakes up the next morning and is late for Mass. He get's there late and is troubled by the citizens making jokes about his hangover. After Mass he goes to the Rectory, and drops to his knees for God's guidance. This scene showed me that he was not afraid to turn to God in the matter of Conflict.

Fatherless Choice #2

The characters in Fatherless that stood out the most to me were Moia, Bill and Maggie Kealey. The reason I think this is because of all the pain and suffering that Moia put the Kealey family through and her eventual suicide which is a prominent problem in todays world. I actaually feel really bad for Moia, mainly because she was sexually abused and as it said in the book she was a "victim soul". Moia didn't choose for this to happen, she was just a victim of someone else's own selfishness. Her dignity as a human being was violated and that led her into a deep depression, which she could not control over, and eventually to her horrific suicide. Also, in a way I feel even worse for Bill and Maggie Kealey. They tried their hardest to try and find out what was wrong with their child. It drove the family crazy for years, riping their family apart one day at a time. Then after all of that they are left with the great pain of the suicide of Moia. Suicide just doesn't effect the person who commits it, it effects all of those who loved them. On top of all this, Bill Kealey will leave his wife, Maggie, soon after Moia's funeral. He was having a affair with his secretary and will be moving in with her.I was really disappointed with Bill, how could he leave his family, he promises to support them but it won't be the same. The Kealey family has been though enough and I see Bill's leaving as a major truing point for the downfall of the family.

fatherless Choice 2

The character that stands out most to me is moia, bill and maggie kealys daughter, she stands out to me because they always said how bill and maggie had a hard time with her, and because they would always go to john sweeny for help and see what he said was the reason for moia's behavier. one of the moments that stood out to me in moia's character is when her sister grace did anything to talk to her. but whatever grace did moia would still ignore her, grace would bring up her meals she would get books moia liked, but moia would not give in. Moia is a very sad and depressing character in the story fatherless, But you find out that she is always depressed because moia was abused by a priest when she was younger.
the most outstanding person to me is moia. she is very depressed arround her family. when ever we herd of he in the book, she was always locked up in her room. all of this was because she was abused by a priest that had passed.

Fatherless 2

The most memorable character to me is John Sweeney. Because in every book there are always protagonists and antagonists, and John is neutral. Everyone comes to him for help and advice, in which he trys his best with. Then he has his own problems like, Church teachings and counseling families whose problems grow bigger and bigger. He doesn't really use his own advice, but he's great at giving them. The scene that most stands out is when John called his old coach Hal up. Hal gives him some very good advice including a book that changed Hal's perspective on life and death. Hal also tells him about how his wife and himself try to not remember the bad things about their son but the good things he did before he died in the army. They try to embrace his death, saying that he's not dead, he's just gone from our sight but how they can still feel his presence.

Fatherless

My stand out character is Moia Kealey. She is a very upset person, when her family and close friends try to help her she just keeps herself bottled in. We may have seen a part of reason into her behavior when we are told that a old priest may have abused young Moia. This character because she has had a very rough life and she is very complicated.

Fatherless choice #3

One of the reviewers of Fatherless called the characters noble and flawed. Explain this by using at least three characters from the story.

Fatherless choice #2

Which character is the most memorable to you and why? Which scene stands out in your mind? Explain.

Fatherless choice #1

By the end of the book Fatherless, we have some insights into why Mr. Gail chose that title. How does the title relate to his subject and characters?  Explain. (In other words, who is fatherless and how did it happen? What effect does being fatherless have on those who are fatherless?) Really think about this and relate to the book.

The pope likes facebook?!

...Young people in particular are experiencing this change in communication, with all the anxieties, challenges and creativity typical of those open with enthusiasm and curiosity to new experiences in life…In this field too [the web] we are called to proclaim our faith that Christ is God…I invite young people to make good use of their presence in the digital world.

Summer is the time of year when every school student and teacher get excited to have a 2 and 1/2 month break from school. The last day of school kids scatter to get home and relax, go to the pool, prepare for vaction, and get there minds off of school, and just hangout with friends and family. God—an Eternal, Uncreated Being?

When Christians claim that the God of the Bible created all the basic entities of life and the universe, some will ask what seems to be a logical question: “Who created God?” The very first verse in the Bible declares: “In the beginning God ... .” There is no attempt in these words to prove the existence of God or imply in any way that God had a beginning. In fact, the Bible makes it clear in many places that God is outside time. He is eternal, with no beginning or end. He also knows all things, being infinitely intelligent.

The Blessed Trinity

The Trinity is the term employed to signify the central doctrine of the Christian religion — the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These are theThree Persons God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God." In this Trinity of persons the Son is begotten of the Father by an eternal generation, and the Holy Spirit proceeds by an eternal procession from the Father and the Son. All three are eternal and equal to one another.

Does the Devil Truly exist?

He does whether you believe in him or not. He is behind every bad decision we make and every sin we commit. We must try to stay pure and faithful to God and resist the Devil's temptations. If we are close to God, we will be safe. All we need is strong faith.

Eternity

By saying that God is eternal we mean that in essence, life, and action He is altogether beyond temporal limits and relations. He has neither beginning, nor end, nor duration by way of sequence or succession of moments. There is no past or future for God— but only an eternal present. His self-existence is timeless. He is and will always be.

The Nature and Attributes of God

When we say that God is infinite, we mean that He is unlimited in every kind of perfection or that every conceivable perfection belongs to Him in the highest conceivable way. In a different sense we sometimes speak, for instance, of infinite time or space, meaning thereby time of such indefinite duration or space of such indefinite extension that we cannot assign any fixed limit to one or the other. Care should be taken not to confound these two essentially different meanings of the term. Time and space, being made up of parts in duration or extension, are essentially finite by comparison with God's infinity. Now we assert thatGod is infinitely perfect in the sense explained, and that His infinity is deducible from His self-existence.

Exams This week

Exams for the 1st semester are this week and students at bonner and prendie are getting prepared any way possible. us students are writing down information that will help us study for the test. Even though we are glad to be out of school at 10 after exams we are all still dreading these test we take every year, some of these test grades depend on if people are going to get 1st or 2nd honers and some depend on weather they fail or pass. how do you prepare for exams every year?

Phillies 2011 Pitching Rotation

Even though the phillies didnt make it to the world series last year there are higher hopes this year with which is expexted to be one of the greatest pitching rotations in baseball history. The five pitchers are Cole Hammels, Roy Oswalt, Cliff Lee, Joe blanton and Roy Halladay. Cole hammels pitched his best in the 2008 world series against the tampa bay rays and won the MVP for the world series. Roy Oswalt was picked by the houston astros last season. Cliff Lee went to phildelphia in the middle of the 2009 season but was traded to the Cleavland indians then to the rangers and then back to philadelphia in alittle over one year. Joe Blanton has the lowest rank out of the five but is still expected to do good in 2011 and Roy Halladay is the highest anticipated pitcher for 2011, he was the winner of the 2010 cy young award for the national league and pitched a no hitter and a perfect game in 2010 season. So how do you think the phillies will do this year

Is God still involved in the world today

I believe God is still involved in the world today because everything that happens it happens for a reason. God knows everything that is going to happen before it happens, He knows what we are thinking. He knows what we are going to do in our lives. I believe when a mircle happens God made it happen. He was the one who let the mircle happen so yes I do believe is still involved in the world today.

The school year is going by fast

Wow the school year has gone by fast where already about to start the third quarter and the second semster. Thanksgiving and Christmas has came and gone by, 2011 is here and under way. Is the Bible truly God's Word?

The answer to this question will not only determine how we view the Bible and its importance to our lives, but also it will ultimately have an eternal impact on us. If the Bible is truly God’s Word, then we should cherish it, study it, obey it, and fully trust it. If the Bible is the Word of God, then to dismiss it is to dismiss God Himself. The question we must ask ourselves is how can we know that the Bible is the Word of God and not just a good book? What is unique about the Bible that sets it apart from all other religious books ever written? Is there any evidence that the Bible is truly God’s Word?
If we have a snow day on tuesday, does anyone think we will be takeing the exams on friday? I hope that we will instead of haveing a full day on friday. I think that we should have off on friday theres no reason we should come in we have exams all week why do we have schol on friday? What do you think we should have off? Do u think we should have a full day?

Flyers!

The Flyers are doing good this year. They made it far last year and do you think they can do it again this year? Chris Pronger just got back from his injury. The players are strong and ready to win. I think they will go as far as last year they just have to beat the Penguins.

God and Science

In the bible god said he created man, women, the earth and all the creature of it. Then where does the theory of evolution of man come from? Where does the skeleton remains and fossils of dinosaurs and primate counter parts of man come from?
Mr. Donohue may have a tough exterior but he truly cares about whether his students learn. He can be harsh, cruel, even seem heartless but that's because he sees the potential of a stubborn student who is to lazy to do his homework. He gets mad when people aren't working as hard as they can. If you walk into his class with with a cocky know it all attitude he will tare you apart. Now I have the Don as a Procter for two of my exams yeah me.
does any1 think that the jets will win it all. There team cosits of good and young talent. The stealers. also have a chance to win it all but I think that the jets will win it all this year. anyone else have any other ideas on who will win it.
What is the definition of "Heaven"?

Do pets or animals go to Heaven? Do They Have Souls?

The Bible does not give any teachings on whether pets/animals have “souls” or whether pets/animals will be in heaven. However, we can use biblical principles to develop some clarity on the subject. The Bible says that both man and animals have the breath of life. The difference between human beings and animals is that humanity is made in the image and likeness of God, while animals are not. If pets/animals do have a “soul” , it must therefore be of a different and lesser “quality.”

superbowl

I'm picking the bears to win the NFC championship and the superbowl. Coming into the season people where picking the bears to be a 500 team being in the same division as the packers and the vikings with Brett Farve. But they surprised people by beating the eagles and other goods teams to come to the point where they are at now.Jay Culter came off a bad season last year throwing a league high 26 interception but this year he put up probowl type numbers with the edition of Julius peppers, chris harris to the defense and chester taylor to the offense. Write who you think is going to win it all.

Super Bowl Teams

This blog is about who you think will be the two teams in the super bowl. We have the Packers, Jets, Bears and the Steelers. This sunday Packers play the Bears. And the Jets play the Steelers. I pick that the Packers beat the bears and the jets beat the Steelers. So that leaves the Jets and Packers in Super Bowl. With the out come of the Packers winning it all. Who do you think will win this weekend? Who do you think will win the Super bowl this year?

Beware of the Don. The Don aka Mr. Donohue is the Bonner math teacher that means business. Last year I had the pleasure of being taught by one of the best teachers in the USA(no joke). His class was one of the hardest and most rewarding classes I've ever had. The things he can teach you will stay with he always says " My job isn't to teach you it's to make sure you learn" and learn we did.

Why is God so different in the Old Testament than He is in the New Testament?

The God of the Old Testament is a God of wrath while the God of the New Testament is a God of love. The fact that the Bible is God’s progressive revelation of Himself to us through historical events and through His relationship with people throughout history might contribute to misconceptions about what God is like in the Old Testament as compared to the New Testament. However, when one reads both the Old and the New Testaments, it becomes evident that God is not different from one testament to another and that God’s wrath and His love are revealed in both testaments.

Go Bonner!

I love Bonner. Bonner may be the greatest school ever in history. It has everything you could want, Smart teachers who can take a joke, People that truly care about you and your future. The single sex education that you get at Monsignor Bonner is as good as you can get anywhere. It may not be the fanciest school or the school with the most money but year after year we graduate fine students that go on to be successful in their chosen fields. Bonner prepares them for life after high school, instilling in them honor, loyalty, integrity, and purity which they will use the rest of their life.

sports

what is your fav sports team

There's always next year

With the eagles lost on sunday they go into the offseason having to fix somethings on defense. But they had a good season which most experts thought would be a building season after the trade of Mcnabb and the new starting quarterback Kevin Kolb took over.

Snow!?

I'm sure every one remembers a time not too long ago when even one or two snow days were rare. We were extremely spoiled last year when we had a plethora of snow and several snow days including the big seven day weekend. I remember in grade school that if we had two snow days that would be the best thing that could happen know we just expect it to. All I'm saying is that don't be surprised when march rolls around and we only had one or two snow days. There is hope, chances are that we will have a snow day tomorrow so enjoy it you may not get many opportunities.

Eagles.

Even though the Eagles lost today they played a good game. The Packers was a tough team and they don't have any reason to hold their heads in my opinion. For the most part they had a very good season. I hope they sign Mick Vick for more seasons to come. He turned this team around this season, and he's truely become a leader.

Who created God? Where did God come from?

Common argument from atheists and skeptics is that if all things need a cause, then God must also need a cause. The conclusion is that if God needed a cause, then God is not God (and if God is not God, then of course there is no God). This is a slightly more sophisticated form of the basic question “Who made God?” Everyone knows that something does not come from nothing. So, if God is a “something,” then He must have a cause, right?

Phillies 2011 Season!

The Phillies are going to be a very good team this year! They picked up Cliff Lee but got rid of Jason Werth. Thats ok because they still have big hitters like Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, Carlos Ruiz, and Chase Utley. We have the best rotation in the league with the new pick up Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, Roy Halladay, and Roy Oswalt. The Phillies have a really good shot at winning this year.

Happy Holidays!

Have you taken action yet?

Are the Eagles going to the Super Bowl?

The state of Bonner in in trouble. The number of 8th graders coming into Bonner has dropped greatly in the past 5 years. The nightmare that Bonner may have to combine with our sister school Prendie is looking more and more likely. There is hope however if the current Bonner students try to improve the reputation of Bonner they have to try to keep the dream alive. There is a way we can save our school but we have to be all in.
